A monument, a gift.

This book grew from a feature series in our years at the magazine. Paul Gruchow visited several state scientific and natural areas, hidden and largely unknown gems of wild land protected by the state. His resulting essays eulogize and exalt the incredible diversity of landscape and life in our territory.

Paul’s gone now, but the wilds and the book remain. Published as a gift to donors, this small vessel of praise serves many purposes.
